Qualcomm may be planning to release the Nintendo Switch clone

Qualcomm may be planning to release the Nintendo Switch clone

It is a fact that the Nintendo Switch has been a great sales success, so much so that it almost ranks among the best-selling consoles in history. Because of this fame, several companies kept an eye out and tried to reproduce such as, for example, Razer with its Kishi gamepad. However, it seems that now another attempt at imitation is about to come from the producer of chipsets for Android mobile devices, Qualcomm.

According to the Android Police website, Qualcomm is planning to launch a console based on the Android operating system with a design similar to the Nintendo Switch. While no images of the handheld video game have been published, the device is known to have detachable Joy-con-style controls on the right and left sides. In addition, it was also said that the device will come with video output, 6000 mAh battery, SD card slot, 5G connectivity and support for Qualcomm QuickCharge charging.

According to the information said, Qualcomm's new handheld video game will have Android 12 as its operating system with a custom launcher and support for Google apps and services. In addition, it appears that Qualcomm is already negotiating with Epic Games to implement the game developer and publisher's app on the console, thus providing access to several games.

    Launch and availability

The plan for the launch of Qualcomm's console is, for the time being, for the first quarter of 2022. In addition, the company intends to sell its video game for approximately $300.
