According to distributor Take-Two, Red Dead Redemption 2 has sold over 22 million units in just over three months since its release. The number is quite expressive, having even surpassed the studio's expectations.
The number represents units sold to retailers, as it is quite difficult to specify the number of copies sold to end users. The developer made profit from the sale of all games sold to the market.
With a combined revenue of US$1,57 billion, Take-Two grew by 140% compared to the same period last year. The company, in a statement, said it had a net profit of $350 million in the last three months of 2018.

Red Dead Redemption 2 shipped more copies to stores than version 1 of the game in its eight years of existence. To complete the good phase, the game also broke the record for the most profitable weekend in history, totaling US$ 752 million in three days.
To show even more the power of the game, Red Dead Redemption 2 surpassed even Grand Theaft Auto V in some aspects. The online mode, for example, performed better than GTA: Online.
