Absolute success on Steam

Resident Evil Village has become the best release of a franchise game on Steam, being the title with the most copies sold in its early days on the market.

According to SteamDB, Resident Evil Village shined in its first 24 hours, with a peak of over 101k concurrent players on Steam. With this impressive number, the horror game was one of the three most played titles on Valve's platform last Friday (11).

Previously, Resident Evil with the most concurrent players on launch day was the remake of the first title in the franchise, which had seen a peak of 74 players in its first 24 hours.

Compared to its predecessor, Village is even more imposing and impressive. Resident Evil 7 peaked at just 20 users on its launch day, falling far short of the most recent title in the franchise.

Resident Evil Village Review: A horror masterpiece

Success also on PlayStation 5

In addition to PC success, Resident Evil Village is also doing well on PlayStation 5, mainly not UK.

With interesting numbers, the title became the second best debut of the year in physical media, second only to Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury.

According to GamesIndustry.biz, 49% of physical copies of Village sold in the region were versions of the title for the PlayStation 5. In addition, the PS4 took 31% of the copies, while 20% of the units were destined for the Xbox.
