SaGa Frontier Remastered will be released in 2021

Square Enix has announced that SaGa Frontier Remastered will be released in 2021. The reveal comes to excite fans of the great PlayStation 1 classic, which now returns with an improved version. The turn-based battles title, with the good old mechanics of JRPG's, will also come out to the new generation of consoles with versions for Android, IOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC. Launch is scheduled for the Japanese summer, winter period here in Spain.

With the "Free-form Scenario System" mechanic, SaGa Frontier the game shapes itself according to the player's choices, presenting differences in the plot as you make your own decisions.

The company released a trailer with the reveal of the remastered version of the title, which arrives as part of the franchise's 30th anniversary celebration. Previously, Romancing SaGa 3 and SaGa: Scarlet Grace - Ambitions also got remasters.

What's New in the Remaster

The classic mechanics of turn-based battles from JRPG's will continue to be present in the game, maintaining the elements that made the title innovative at the time of its release. However, everything will present a more interesting look, with remastered graphics, in addition to the soundtrack also presenting improvements.

The main novelty of SaGa Frontier Remasterd is the addition of a new character as a protagonist. Fuse is a member of the IRPG, who will now also be part of the players' hero party. In the original version, the main characters available were Red, Blue, Emelia, Asellus, Lute, Rikki and T260G.

Fuse, who was once just a character to be recruited, will now be a protagonist who will gain depth in his own plot. The story of the new member of the team of heroes is written by Akitoshi Kawazu, general director of the SaGa series, in partnership with Benny Matsuyama. Fuse will also have unreleased music, composed by Kenji Ito, the mind behind great classics in the franchise.
