Sony buys Bluepoint Games, studio responsible for remasters

Some of the best games we have for PlayStation 5 are old remade games. Titles such as the Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid and Shadow of Colossus franchises, in addition to the cult classic Gravity Rush, had remasters made by Bluepoint Games. Due to this fact, Sony decided to buy the Bluepoint Games studio to continue the great work of the game developer.

With the purchase of Bluepoint Games, it is likely that we will more often see remasters and remakes containing additional features from Sony. In addition, according to the website IGN, the studio also intends to create its own games.

"Our next project, we're working on original content right now. We can't talk about what it is, but this is the next step in the evolution for us."

Sony is under pressure to bring 'killer games' to PS5

Aside from the fact that most of Sony's original AAA PS5 games have been delayed, except for Ratchet and Clank, Microsoft has been growing more and more in the games market. Today it was announced by the Windows developer that Xbox Cloud Gaming (xCloud), a game streaming service, has officially arrived in Spain and is released for all platforms (mobile, notebook, desktop, tablet), offering more than 100 titles through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

Games like God of War: Ragnarok, Gran Turismo 7 and Horizon Forbidden West were supposed to be released in 2021. However, the studios ended up delaying the titles to 2022, weakening expectations for holiday sales (Children's Day and Christmas) .
