Square Enix shows ray-traced graphics it will have in the future

Today Square Enix Luminous Productions revealed a demonstration of a new technology called "Back Stage", which uses the Ray Tracing rendering technique. In the case of reproduction, the Real-time version was used, which would render the images in real time using the Ray Tracing technique.

Developer Luminous Productions was founded last year and has developed projects with former Final Fantasy XV employees. Hajime Tabata, the game's director, initially ran the studio. After some time, Hajime ended up leaving Square Enix.

Square Enix studio was founded in 2003 after the merger between Square and Enix. The game developer is famous for RPG genre game projects such as Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest and Kingdom Hearts. Its headquarters are located in Tokyo, in the Shinjuku district and it has more than 3900 employees around the world.

According to the Siliconera website, the technology demonstration shows us that by using Real-Time Ray Tracing it is possible to very faithfully demonstrate the character's face and emotions, giving incredible realism to the scenes. With this small production, it is possible to see that Ray Tracing technology can still evolve a lot, providing us with unprecedented quality game productions.
