The Malaysian government ended up blocking Steam throughout its territory last Saturday (11). That's because there was the introduction of a new fighter in an Indie game called Fight Gods, a fighting game that puts religious characters face to face.
The game was released on September 04, 2016 and this week generated the biggest controversy after adding the character "Jesus Christ" to the game. Therefore, the Steam domain was completely blocked in Malaysia after the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission asked Steam to prevent Malaysian users from purchasing Fight of God, as Steam's response took too long, the blocking happened through ISPs.
The Minister of Communication and Multimedia, Salleh Said Keruak, stressed that the ban was carried out to ensure "the harmony and well-being of multi-racial and multi-religious people in the country".
