Earlier this month we had the announcement of the Nintendo Switch online platform along with the announcement of several classic Super Nintendo games. In addition, the Super Nintendo wireless controller for the Switch was also announced, which people who subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online would be entitled to buy it. However, the company had not given a specific date for making the controls available for sale.
Yesterday, to the surprise of many, Nintendo's North American website put the Super Nintendo wireless controllers on sale for US$29,00 each. In addition, the purchase limit per user of Nintendo's online account has been increased, making it possible to purchase up to four controllers. According to the website, the controls will already be shipped on Wednesday of this week (September 18).
Like the Joy-cons, the Super Nintendo (SNES) wireless controllers will be compatible with all games on Nintendo's online service, in addition to several other Switch titles. The controls include a cable to charge your battery via USB-C which provides a higher charging speed compared to micro USB. On the controller we still have two extra buttons at the top of the controller, probably for screen capture and synchronization.
