Switch will receive another game, the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX

Switch will receive another game, the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX

Yesterday, January 9, shortly after the announcement of two major DLCs for Pokémon Sword & Shield, a new game was announced. It is a remake of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX, also for Nintendo Switch.

The game's art style, graphics, score and effects have all been updated, but the essence of the game seems to have remained. The release is scheduled for March 6, 2020, while a demo is now available on the Switch eShop, as well as pre-purchasing the game. The game will cost $59,99 in both physical and digital formats, and the file size is 2.1 GB.

The original game was released in 2005 for the Nintendo DS, under the same name "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team", minus the "DX". The starting point of the story is that you, the main character and originally a human, end up transformed into a Pokémon and seek to return to normal.

During the story, you can meet and recruit Pokémon as you venture through dungeons. You must create a team and rescue pokemon along your journey. While there are multiple RPG factors, the game is geared (as the name implies) to closed dungeons rather than an open world like other games in the franchise. The battle scheme resembles a board game with turns, items and strategy.

The game will cover all generations of Pokémon so far and will also bring Mega Evolutions for the first time in a Mystery Dungeon game. The game's pokedex is not yet known, but there will certainly be many monsters to join your team.
