    To the excitement of fans, Neil Druckmann, Co-President and Creative Director of Naughty Dog, stated that there is already an outline of the script for The Last of Us 3. However, the public must contain its anxiety, since Druckmann insisted that the game is not in development yet and it's not even confirmed. Either way, this might excite fans of the hit franchise.


    In a conversation during the Script Apart podcast, Neil Druckmann spoke about the matter and revealed that an outline of the story has already been written by him and co-writer Halley Gross.     "I don't know how much I want to reveal... Halley Gross and I have written an outline for a story, which we're not doing - but hopefully one day we'll be able to release it - that explores a little bit what happens after this game. We'll see."

    After the end of The Last of Us Part II, a continuation of the franchise there are different ways to go. Some situations can be resolved in a continuation, while even new situations and proposals can be used.

    According to Neil Druckmann, The Last of Us 3 has already caused a lot of conversation, however there is nothing defined. The director stated that "these games take a lot to make" and concluded by stating that "You want to make sure you're excited about the idea you've come up with".


    Neil Druckmann even talked about the process of starting a new project. The director stated that there are many variables involved and said he enjoys evaluating options to decide which project to get involved with.


    "We've taken a lot of time to explore different ideas, whether it's The Last of Us 3, whether it's something new, whether there's any old franchise that we want to come back to. I like to explore all of that and then look, like: OK, we have all these ideas on. As a studio, what do we want to commit to? Because it's a big commitment - monetary, time, passion, talent, so you think about all the opportunity costs that come with that."
