Speaking about the city of the game, van der Lende stated that it was easy to choose which would be the big inspiration for the team. The fact that New York is known as "the taxi capital" made it clear that this was the right city to inspire New Yellow City.
"Before the team began designing the city, we all asked ourselves, "What would be the best city to take inspiration from for this spiritual successor?" It didn't take long for the iconic taxi capital, New York City, to stand out. as the obvious winner. We always start by researching key iconic locations and city plans to decide what should be included. Simultaneously, we delve into similar titles for inspiration - in this case, the classic taxi games."
The director said that the desire was to create iconic spots, which could be easily found by players. The developers wanted to create routes that were easy to learn.
"When we started focusing on the main island, a few things became very important to us. First, we wanted to bring that New York feeling to the city, including iconic landmarks, but giving them a unique touch. Players will be able to visit Freedom Park, Aeonian Square, Memorial Park and many other places (three guesses on what their inspiration was) Next, we wanted to make sure the line of sight between them was clear so players could find them easily and learn the different routes through the city."
