Tomb Raider Ascension: Check out what Lara Croft's horror game was like

Although some fans are still unaware of this fact, the Tomb Raider franchise almost won a horror game. Although it is a somewhat strange and nuanced idea, the project had a lot of traction and could very well have been officially launched.

However, the horror game got in the way, becoming the title we saw in 2013, a game that worked as a reboot in the saga of our beloved Lara Croft. called Tomb Raider: Ascension, the horror game would feature frightening creatures, embracing a much more fanciful and sinister side.

Agora, Square Enix decided to talk more about this canceled game, including stating that the project served for the team to begin telling an origin story through survival.
