Train Pokemons while you sleep? Pokémon Company Announces Two Features That Make This Possible

The Pokémon Company made several announcements during a press conference last Wednesday (29). The first news to be released were the Detective Pikachu game for Nintendo Switch and Pokémon HOME. Next, the company announced Pokémon Sleep and Pokémon Go Plus+.

According to the company, the Pokémon Sleep will be released in 2020 for both iOS and Android. It will monitor the user's sleep time and use this data in the game.

We’re pleased to announce the development of Pokémon Sleep, a new app from @Pokemon_cojp that tracks a user’s time sleeping and brings a gameplay experience unlike any other!

The Pokémon Company has not given further details on Pokémon Sleep at this time. What is known is that the application will use data such as the amount of sleep and time the user wakes up to change their gameplay. Apparently, while sleeping, the user will have their Pokémon trained - in addition to receiving other rewards for good sleep habits.

The company's chief executive, Tsunekazu Ishihara, commented during an event in Tokyo that the purpose of this app is to "turn sleep into entertainment".

At the same event, Nintendo also reported that it was developing the sleep tracking tool for the device. Pokémon Go Plus +. The wristband already existed and allowed players to receive information from the Pokémon Go game by hand. Now, the idea is to improve its technology (and change its format) so that, in addition to all the features of its predecessor, Pokémon Go Plus+ can also measure sleep quality, contributing to Pokémon Sleep's data collection.

The device's shape is no longer a bracelet and becomes a flattened Pokeball. In order for the data to be collected, all the user needs to do is place their Pokeball next to their pillow.
