Android 11: Google announces release date for the BETA

MWC, E3, WWDC and others were all canceled due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, so companies had to find creative ways to advertise products and services.

Microsoft holds monthly events to showcase Xbox Series X games and features, Apple will host WWDC 2020 online, and now Google has brought information about its annual event.

Announcements of new versions of Android are presented annually during Google I/O at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California. With the in-person event cancelled, Google announced that the "#Android11: The Beta Launch Show" will take place at 11:3 am ET on June XNUMXrd.

Dave Burke, vice president of engineering for Android, will host the program and participate in a live Q&A once the program concludes.

Google also plans to share the meetings planned to take place during Google I/O, "on a variety of topics from Jetpack Compose to Android Studio and Google Play." You can sign up to receive notices here.

Burke explained that the Android team has been working remotely since employees were sent home, so the timeline for the Android 11 release has changed.

The entire initially scheduled schedule was delayed by about a month, but the public release is still planned for the third quarter.
