    Privacy-focused DuckDuckGo Enters Chrome Options

Google Chrome released an interesting option in version 73. Users can now set DuckDuckGo as their default search engine directly from the Chrome Browser's customization options. It is worth mentioning that the search engine is focused on privacy and does not track users.

This way, after updating the browser to the latest version, you can go to the settings and use DuckDuckGo as the default browser. Before, the options were Google, then Bing and Yahoo!.

The new search option is not well known among most users, but as of October of last year, more than 30 million searches were being performed a day. DuckDuckGo is one of the few search engines that has no commercial purpose and still manages to compete with some of the big browsers.

Google, in a statement to CNET, did not mention DuckDuckGo directly, but said there were additions to its browser in search options. "Starting with Chrome 73, we've updated the list of default search engines available in Chrome. The new list is based on search engine popularity in different regions," said a Google spokesperson.

DuckDuck is available on Chrome in over 60 countries, including Spain.

To set DuckDuckGo as the default search engine, go to Settings, then find "Search Subtitle". Click the box next to "search engine used in address bar" and select DuckDuckGo from the list.
