Battlefield 2042 Review: 3 months have passed since launch...

In 2022, after almost three months since the official release of BattleField 2042 I decided to bring my gameplay experience to the game. Yes, I waited so long, because there were several improvements since the first contact, I was waiting for things to improve so I could bring something that was more consistent with what EA wants for the game.

I think many people today already know what BattleField 2042 is, its classes and how this new game in the series was developed. I confess that I've been a lover of the series since Battlefield 1942. The theme, gameplay and especially the graphics have always been above the average of other games and Battlefield can always gamble on these questions.

My analysis will then come across to bring up the chronic problems of the series, and the new problems that Battlefield 2042 brought.

    The classes by the experts

Whenever you change styles, there is mistrust and time for adaptation. When implementing the experts in the games, the old Battlefield players felt strange with the games, after all it was simple, doctor, engineer, support and sniper. You knew what each of them did and could handle. Not now, now everyone can take all the weapons and each of the specialists who are still divided into classes have their gadgets and participate jointly in the game to try to assemble the long-awaited squad that would work together, the dream of Battlefield developers.

My tip for anyone starting in BF2042 is to get Boris, he has a sentry that helps with rushes and point defenses.

    The specialists

    the game modes

The new game modes was a fun choice, Gun Master for me is an amazing feeling, you really need to concentrate to win the match.

Three types of games, inside Battlefield

Warfare is the traditional mode, battles for conquering territories, Hazard Zone is a kind of rush with battle royale, and Portal is the game mode where you are taken back to Battlefield Vietnam, BF3 and BF4, there you play maps of the old games with the weapons and vehicles from there, pure nostalgia.

The new conquer mode now with 64 players for each side is incredible, shooting, bombing and action all the time, there's nowhere to stop, that excited me. However, I missed the full picture of the ranking of who killed and scored the most. Now for having 128 players, maybe the board was too big and Dice decided to organize this board with squads, I didn't like it very much. The lack of a score doesn't encourage you to go after kills, the main aspect of past games. Earning points is cool, especially if you play as a team, but none of the player friends I have are playing Battlefiled 2042.

    Gigantic maps - and frames?

I loved the idea of large maps, the gameplay in 128 players as I said is fantastic, in terms of not being stopped, but loading the map and starting the game has been a part of my computer.

    one of the maps

See, my pc is a Ryzen 3600X, with VGA RX 5700, 16GB of RAM and game installed on SSD. Crashes take about 1 minute to subside, I had to set the graphics to minimum to have a considerable amount of 75 to 90 frames to play. The number itself isn't bad, but I was expecting something more streamlined, much more streamlined. My PC is not bad at all, so it should run the game fine.

    overpower vehicles

There is still room for improvement in the balance of vehicles, some are very fast with very powerful weapons, this is the case with helicopters, the Littlebird, so famous in BF3 and BF4 is very strong here, there is a need to reduce the damage caused by it. Tanks are easy targets for squads, so they need to be as strong as they are today.

    netcode

In my memory, Netcode started to weigh heavily on Battlefield 3, but it was in 4 that everything fell apart. Deaths behind the wall were frequent, there was a time when it was tried to solve the problem, and in a way, it was improved, not solved.

The Netcode problem happens when some other player has a lower ping than yours, roughly speaking, so to record the shot, the hit and consequently the damage it caused you, it takes less time to get this information to the server . Let's say they both fired at the same time, whoever has the lowest minimum ping will benefit from registering the damage first.

This is a chronic Battlefield issue. Other games have the same characteristic, but are much more toned down.

    Conclusion

    Battlefield 2042

    7.0 Pros
    • big maps
    • 128 players
    • great graphics
    Cons
    • Poor graphics optimization
    • Netcode killing behind the wall

Battlefield players just want to get a nearby server to avoid so much netcode, play with their vehicle or else grab their favorite weapon and go "striguinating" squads around. He wants to enjoy the game he bought having fun, he doesn't care about experts and other frills. Dice still doesn't understand that the more things they invent, the more they drive away game lovers who wanted to play a Noshair Canals, a Locker or Subway with 3000 tickets.

Battlefield 2042 promised to be what fans expected, a new game, with epic battles and current / futuristic weapons, vehicles, explosions, map changing, the game even delivers all that, but it's not that different from Battlefield 4, which runs today on any computer.

I expected more excitement to play, I expected more community vibes, the release full of issues and bugs kind of put out the glow, the BF flame is going out every year. With each new update, I go there to update and test, when I see something awakens and that desire to shoot without anything else to think comes back, who knows.

I still do not recommend the purchase of Battlefield 2042, I expected my passage through the game to be more encouraging. PS: I have all the BF.
