Death Stranding 2 is already in development, according to Norman Reedus

In an interview about The Walking Dead series, Norman Reedus, Daryl Dixon, ends up answering one of the most asked questions by Death Stranding fans: "Will there be a sequel? (or 'Will there be Death Stranding 2?')". The information was obtained through the questions asked during a round table with the actor made by Vitória Pratini, from the AdoroCinema website.

In mid-2020, Hideo Kojima CEO of Kojima Productions and creator of Death Stranding, even posted on social media indications that he would be starting a creation project for a sequel to Death Strading. However, four months later, the creator of the Metal Gear series games explains what happened and ends up dodging about it, leaving the issue hazy again. However, thanks to the interview mentioned above, we practically had confirmation that there will be a possible sequel to Death Stranding.

It is interesting to remember that Hideo Kojima even mentioned in December 2019 to the website Vulture about the intention of working again with actor Norman Reedus in a sequel to a game. However, at the time the game creator said that if he decided to create Death Stranding 2, it would be "from scratch".

During the AdoroCinema interview, actor Norman Reedus responds to a joke comparing the characters Daryl Dixon and Sam Porter Bridges, where he is asked who would win a marathon.

    Norman knee:

“It would definitely be Sam Porter Bridges. He's got the suit, the motorcycle… wait, they both have motorcycles. He's got that exoskeleton he can run with. Daryl's in Georgia, it's super hot. So he could pass out. Norman, on the other hand. On the other hand, I'd just take a bus. I think we're doing a second Death Stranding. [The game] is in negotiations right now. So… Yay."

Confirmation of Death Stranding 2 Comes As Death Stranding Director's Cut Approaches Release

It is interesting to note the coincidence between the revelation made by Norman Reedus about the sequel to Death Stranding and the debut of the version of Death Stranding for PS5 (Death Stranding Director's Cut), an edition with several extras for the game. Among the novelties that will be brought in this version made for the Sony console are: graphical improvements due to the use of Ray-tracing technology, new items, game modes, and missions, as well as improvements in functionality, such as the photography mode. Death Stranding Director's Cut will be released on September 24th for PlayStation 5.
