    Get all the news from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

    Nintendo announced this Friday more news on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, next big title to come to Switch on April 28. As we have already spoken in Techlifers, this version will have 48 race tracks, all from the Wii U plus the DLC.

    Thinking of more novelties to entertain people, Big N will bring 42 characters for the game, such as characters from Splatoon, the Bowser Jr., King Boo and Dry Bones. Other good news include the ability to shold two items at the same time, a new system that doesn't let you fall off the track and new powers like turning invisible.

    It is also possible to play Mario Kart dividing the screen into four parts (for four players), when the Switch is connected to the TV or if you and 11 friends have a Switch, it is possible to have a competition via wireless.

    Mario Kart 8 Deluxe focuses on battle mode

    The main focus of the Switch with Mario Kart is the battles mode, which will have several games, among them most versions of other consoles, that can be played in 8 different areas. Nintendo describes the battle mode as follows:

    • Renengade Roundup: First appearing in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, this new mode allows one team to try to capture the other and put them in jail before time runs out. The opposing team must try to escape and save their friends who are trapped by pressing a button below the cell;
    • Balloon Battle: In this new-old game, players can earn points by popping opponents' balloons;
    • Bob-omb Blast: Originally in Mario Kart Double Dash, for Game Cube, you need to shoot bombs at opposing karts;
    • Coin Runners: When racing on battlefields, players need to collect as many coins as possible in this fast-paced and frenetic mode introduced in Mario Kart Wii;
    • Shine Thief: Steal the star and wear it as a crown for 20 seconds without anyone stealing it from you.

    Nintendo Switch has been available internationally since March 3rd. You can check out our unboxing, review and even tips on how to buy it in Spain.
