Google has brought in the last few days six new features that will be included in many of its applications: the news, in fact, is related not only to Android, but also to some of its most used applications, Google Chrome, Google Maps, Android Auto, Google TalkBack, Google Assistant and Google Messages.
The first update that arrives actually came first for Google Chrome for computers and is now also available for mobile devices, we're talking about Password Checkup, only now it's integrated directly into Android, starting with version 9 Pie.
Password Checkup
From now on, in fact, Password Checkup will check passwords each time one is entered into any smartphone app using Google's autofill function with a list of compromised passwords so as to notify the user if there is any feedback. so he can check and modify it.
Message Scheduling for Google Messages
Message scheduling finally comes to Google Messages, which now allows you to schedule sending by setting time and date: just write the message, press and hold the send key and select the time and date at which to send the message, the feature will work in devices with Android 7 Nougat or higher.
New gestures and functions for Google Talkback
Google, it says, worked closely with blind and visually impaired communities on this revamp of Google TalkBack to incorporate the most requested features, including: more intuitive gestures, a unified menu, a new menu for reading control and several other features.
Google Assistant with Lock Screen Actions
Finally, Google Assistant is able to perform various tasks on the lock screen without requiring the smartphone to be unlocked. With the update, Google Assistant can set alarms, play music, send text messages and make calls using just voice, without requiring the device to be unlocked. Just enable lock screen results in Google Assistant settings to be able to use these new features.
Google Maps with Dark Mode
Long awaited by everyone, we finally have the dark mode for Google Maps: from now on you can select it in the app's settings, where you can choose between dark, light and system themes.
New features for Android Auto: wallpapers, shortcuts and games
Now Android Auto supports app screen background customization, integrate voice-activated games like quizzes to get distracted on long trips, let you customize shortcuts to quickly launch contacts, weather forecasts, thermostat adjustment and other things, support multiple windows to use Google Maps and music controls at the same time, and finally adds a kind of parental controls, so as to have full control over what is shown on the screen.
