Google announces that it will stop tracking its users through cookies

Rumors indicate that Google will delete cookies in order to prevent websites from tracking user navigation. This feature is used by various websites and applications, including the company.

    What are browser cookies?

    end of cookies

Most websites use personalized cookies that allow you to track the content that the user has visited and convert them into smart ads, thus indicating products or services based on search history. This type of resource is used by platforms such as Google AdSense, responsible for monetizing several websites and will be closed by Google soon.

Some browsers already have functions to block trackers, such as Firefox, which in its last update added the feature that allows the user to prevent websites from collecting information about browsing history. Information indicates that Chrome will also have this functionality in its next update.

It is worth mentioning that in addition to serving as a way to customize advertisements, cookies also serve to optimize page performance, making the search for information that has already been filled in more efficient.

Although Google has indicated that it will end cookies, this does not mean that tracking will end, it is expected that the company has other valid options for its ad-based revenue generation model.
