Google releases Stadia Pro to play for free due to Coronavirus

Due to the increasing number of outbreaks of Coronavirus (COVID-19), several regions of the world are being forced to practice quarantine to prevent the transmission of the disease. As people are spending most of their time at home and cannot go out to have fun, one of the best options for this is video games, which bring pleasure and at the same time unite people digitally in multiplayer games. With that in mind, Google recently announced that it will make its game streaming platform, Stadia Pro, available for 2 months.

According to the Vice President of the Google Stadia project, free access to Stadia Pro will be available in 14 countries, giving access to games like GRID, Destiny 2: The Collection and Thumper. It is also possible to buy other games on the platform's store, which will remain in the user's account even when the free subscription offered is over.

To help people connect with friends online & have some fun during these challenging times, we're opening up Stadia for everyone. You'll also get 2 months of free access to Stadia Pro with some free games to play!

If you are already a Stadia Pro subscriber, you will not be charged a monthly fee for the next two months. After this period, the fee of US$9,90 will be charged again to use the platform.

    How to play on Stadia?

    • Visit the Stadia website to register
    • Download the Stadia app on Android or iOS
    • Use Stadia on your notebook, desktop or tablet with the Chrome operating system. To play, use your controller or mouse and keyboard
    • Play over a Wi-Fi network on Pixel or other compatible Android smartphones.

Google imposed limitations so as not to overload the internet network

With the quarantine of thousands of people, there was an increase in internet demand during this period. To prevent Google's game streaming service from overloading the network, the company has decided to temporarily reduce the resolution of its game streams from 4K to Full HD (1080p). But don't worry, the vast majority of people won't notice a significant difference in quality when playing on a desktop or notebook.

It is important to note that it is possible to choose the data usage options in the Stadia app, developed by Google.
