Google reveals new look for its Assistant

This Wednesday (3), Google began to provide a major overhaul of the look of its Virtual Assistant. Even though the Assistant function is focused on voice, half of the interactions include a touch. According to Google, the user experience will get even better.

Like some of the improvements, sliders to manage your smart home devices. This all includes dimming the lights and buttons to turn them on or off. In addition, they also have buttons to manage the volume of your speakers.

Through the new design, Google is also making a little more of Google Now available. Even though it was already possible to display a list of upcoming appointments, information about the daily commute, recent orders and even other information about the day, the feature appeared hidden behind an icon, so it ended up being ignored by many.

Google also announced several features for developers. They will now be able to create their own visual Assistant experiences. Google called it "rich responses" and even provides developers with a set of pre-built visual components that can be used to extend actions through the Assistant.

Another novelty is the possibility of selling digital products, which may include purchases for a new game or new subscriptions. For that reason, Google is releasing a new login service, which allows developers to log in and link their accounts.

"In the past, linking accounts could be a frustrating experience for your users. Having to manually type in a username and password - or worse, create a new account - breaks the natural flow of conversation," Google said.

“With Google login, users can now create a new account with just one tap or confirmation via their voice. Most users can even link their existing accounts to your service using their verified email address. "
