During E3 2019, a Google Stadia spokesperson informed through an interview made by the PCGamesN website that it will be possible to change the username on the console at any time. That way you will have more freedom and comfort to choose the most suitable name, to your liking, instead of spending hours thinking about a cool nickname.
However, according to the Google employee, it will only be possible to change the username at will if the person buys Google Stadia Founder's Edition. Obviously, the player can only choose an ID that is not being used by anyone else, so there are no problems of mistaken identity.
However, it is not yet known whether this name change will be possible for free or will cost some money. On other platforms such as Xbox and Playstation, a fee is currently charged to change the nickname.
- Minimum and recommended requirements to run Fortnite on PC in 2022
- Minimum requirements to play PUBG on PC
It is worth remembering that in the case of Xbox, the user is given a free pass so that he can change only once for free. Also, changing the name on PSN may cause a bug in some games.
Anyway, the idea of having more freedom and comfort to change the username on consoles is interesting. And you, reader, what do you think of this initiative made by Google for its new console? Comment below and tell us what you think!
