According to a Reuters report, Alphabet, the parent company of Google, has entered into an agreement with India to make high-speed, wireless internet available to thousands of residents using a point-to-point laser connectivity system.
The move will make Alphabet spread across rural India more easily. It is worth mentioning that the cost of fiber optic cabling is very expensive and time consuming. Thus, to make internet available in rural India, Google is testing new alternatives.

Alphabet, in the state of Andhara Pradesh, which has 53 million people and only 15 million with internet access, aims to connect more than 12 million residents by 2019.
Alphabet has not yet informed what average internet speed users will be able to enjoy, as well as prices, plans, among other such details.
