How to download PUBG Lite for PC and what are the requirements?

PUBG Battlegrounds was released at the beginning of last year and is a huge hit of downloads on Google Play Store and App Store. Soon after, the developer decided to release a lean variant, called PUBG Mobile Lite, with a focus on weak smartphones. However, it appears that the gaming giant is looking to expand the game's availability to more users across the world, which is why it has now released a lightweight variant of its PC title - PUBG Lite for PC. What is PUBG Lite?

As the name implies, PUBG Lite is a lightweight and small version of the popular Battle Royale game - PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, which is capable of running on PCs with less powerful hardware. That version was released in October of last year as PUBG Project Thai and was only available in Thailand for testing - also on an invite-only basis.

However, this closed project, which was limited to 100 players, has been renamed PUBG Lite, and is now open to all users in Thailand and now for Spain. Gameplay is the same, where 100 players land on an island, currently only maps Erangel e Casas Particulares Miramar, Havana, get some items and fight to be the last being alive.

How to download PUBG Lite on your PC

1. Access the PUBG Lite website;

2. Create a PUBG ID at this link. See that you can create an account with your Facebook, and this makes the process much easier. Just click on "Login with Facebook" in blue;

3. Now, you need to click the "Create My Account" button in the upper right corner and enter the necessary credentials to create your account. This is an important step as this PUBG ID will be required to enter the game.

4. Download the PUBG Lite Launcher file. Just click the 'Download' button on the homepage (top right), scroll down and click the orange 'Download' button. You can install it, but don't run it right away;

5. Next, go to your email account and click the "Confirm to register" link to verify your PUBG ID. There you have it, you've completed the initial steps and are well on your way to start playing in no time.

How to install PUBG Lite on your PC

Now that you have the PUBG Lite Launcher software, the next step involves downloading the game itself, and beforehand we warn you that the process is a little time consuming, as there are 4GB of the game to download. Here are the steps you need to follow to download PUBG Lite on your PC.

Now, if you have installed PUBG Lite Launcher as linked above, open it and login with your PUBG ID. Just use the ID and password you created.

Possible error: You may see the message: 

"Code execution cannot continue because MSVCP140.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program to correct the problem."

In this case, you will need to install an additional program to fix it. Download the file from this link (Microsoft website) and install the software.

Now, click "Install" to start downloading PUBG Lite on your PC. The file size is around 2,1GB and since you will be using a VPN it may take some time depending on your internet speed.

5. When the download is complete, just close the download window. 

How to play PUBG Lite on your PC

Once installed, PUBG Lite can be played directly from the app. Just log in to your account. Spain, as of the 23rd of May, has an official server for the game, so you can play directly without the need for vpns and you will have a relatively low ping.
