After launching the Mi Band 6 and five new smartphones from the Mi 11 line, the manufacturer announced this Tuesday (30) its long-awaited folding smartphone called Mi Mix Fold. The device comes with a tablet-sized screen under a book-shaped design, very similar to the Galaxy Fold announced by Samsung in 2019.
The Chinese giant still highlights a battery of respect, with performance led by the powerful Snapdragon 888, plus a proprietary processor and camera with technology that resembles the human eye. Design and specifications
The Mix Fold arrives with an 8,01-inch folding panel, WQHD+ resolution and construction that opens from the inside out to provide protection for the internal display.
In the case of the external screen, the panel has a size of 6,52 inches, the same measure as the first Samsung Fold, a model that was apparently used as inspiration for this Xiaomi launch. Looking at the design and construction of the device itself, the only thing that can be evaluated as a negative point is the presence of thick edges, which is not found in recent models from Huawei and Samsung, for example, companies that have established themselves in the field. of folding smartphones.
The Mix Fold will be offered with the Snapdragon 888 processor under the hood, accompanied by options with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB internal storage. Its battery has 5.020 mAh with support for 67W charging, the same power as the Mi 11 Ultra announced by Xiaomi yesterday (29).

Camera
But something that deserves praise from the Chinese giant is the camera package provided for the Mi Mix Fold. The Device has a set of three cameras on its back that basically consists of a 108MP main sensor, plus a 13MP ultrawide lens and an 8MP telephoto lens that can also be used as a macro.
The big highlight, however, is the presence of liquid lenses, as some rumors already pointed out. This technology aims to imitate the same system that the human eye has and the result is extraordinarily better when we talk about faster and more accurate focus, in addition to saving space inside the device by having a smaller mechanism than conventional models.
Xiaomi also awarded the Mix Fold the title of rookie of the first processor made by the Chinese company, the Surge C1. This chip is not intended to compete with Samsung's Qualcomm, MediaTek and Exynos models. In fact, the Surge C1 is an image signal processor, also known as an ISP, a system used to optimize the photos and videos captured by the camera.
The Surge C1's role includes "helping autofocus process faster," and also delivering "better white balance and greater dynamic range, providing a professional-level shooting experience." This technology is very similar to the Pixel Visual Core found in Google's Pixel line, which basically promises to increase the camera's performance in photographs.
