Redmi announces 64MP camera demo for August 7

Realme recently claimed victory, claiming it would be the first to showcase smartphone camera technology with a 64MP sensor... but no more. Redmi seems to have turned around and announced the exact same thing - but with a day's notice. While Realme will hold its event on August 8, Redmi will hold its event on the day 7 of the same month.

The company published a poster with the words "pictures of the future" and the date in question. It is not known for sure what will come at this event, but most likely it is just a demonstration of what this camera can do, without the launch of a device with it.

Redmi announces 64MP sensor. Technology launch event will take place a day before Realme - which announced sensor with the same capacity.

However, this does not rule out the possibility that we will see a smartphone with this technology soon. Currently, Samsung is the only one to have launched a 64MP sensor for smartphones, with its GW1. It looks like Sony should do the same - as well as Realme and Redmi.

The expectation is that these last two companies will announce some high-end smartphone with the technology, it is just not known when. In the case of Redmi, this doubt is even greater since the brand has already announced its K20 Pro this year.

The way is to wait for this race between giants to unfold and see who will be able to develop the best smartphones with 64MP cameras.
