Launched a year ago by Xiaomi, the Redmi Note 8 received an update a few months ago to MIUI 12, the manufacturer's current operating system and which has arrived for most of the company's devices, including the Mi 8, which was launched in 2018 by the brand and received update for MIUI 12 based on Android 10.
This week Xiaomi began to make available for the Redmi Note 8, an intermediate device that will apparently have support for yet another update to the company's own operating system.
Update
The new update is rolling out to devices with firmware version V12.0.6.0.QGGRUXM and is currently only available for devices in Russia, Indonesia and the India region. The update is being made available via OTA (Over-The-Air) and may take a few days to be made available to Spanish smartphones.
The next OS update should be based on Android 11 and could also feature MIUI 12.5 version. Talking about the new MIUI software, a few days ago Xiaomi stopped the development of MIUI 12.

Android 11
According to rumors, the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro could be the next set of Redmi devices to receive an update to Android 11, which was released this year by Google. Also, Redmi Note 8 has just received update to MIUI 12 which is based on Android 10 in global markets after more than a year of waiting.
Information also suggests that Xiaomi will release an update for MIUI 12.5 Beta in the coming weeks, which will be released in China and will likely be a predecessor version of MIUI 13, which will be announced from the second half of 2021.
