Remedy promises to improve Control performance on consoles soon

Last week, more specifically on Tuesday, the game Control was released for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms. However, since its debut, the game hasn't done very well on consoles in terms of performance. When playing on these platforms, playback suffers from significant drops in the number of frames per second when there is greater movement in the game.

On the video streaming platform YouTube, the Digital Foundry channel does an analysis of Control. Watch the scene in the time of 14min and 45sec and analyze the FPS rate in real time in the game.

According to the game's developer, Remedy, communicated that it is already aware of the problem and that for now it does not have a solution for it immediately. There was a blog post from her saying the following about the issue:

"Right now, the team is looking for possible ways to improve optimization on consoles in Control, but we hope you can understand that these things really take time and don't happen at the push of a button (as much as we'd love to). We're also looking into specific issues that some players have been experiencing and looking for solutions to them. When we have more information, we'll make sure to spread the word through our community channels."

Remedy promises to improve Control performance on consoles soon

      • Minimum and recommended requirements to run Fortnite on PC in 2022
      • Minimum requirements to play PUBG on PC
However, the announcement on the developer's blog did not only address the promise to avoid the drop in FPS, it was revealed that soon we will have the option to turn off or on the motion blur and the grain for all platforms of the game.

In addition to the news mentioned above, repairs were also promised to the map, which according to Remedy, needs to improve the way it is loaded.
