A monitor that allows us to be more immersed in our games is what every player is looking for. THE Samsung took on this mission when designing the C24FG70.  Equipped with a 23,5-inch screen, quantum dot technology, 144 Hz refresh rate and 1 ms response time, the Korean company promises to turbocharge your gaming. But is it worth investing?

Design

There are loads of 49-inch screens on the market today. However, this monitor is only 23,5. This can be a positive aspect for users who don't have the space for very large screens. Plus, the 1800R curvature allows for the immersion and depth every gamer is looking for, even on a not-so-large screen.

Coated in black plastic, the monitor has only 4 buttons that allow for quick setup. Below the screen there are 3 buttons, and each one of them holds a game mode pre-configured by the user.

Behind the screen is the menu button; in this part of the monitor you can, in addition to configuring the game modes, also browse through the complete settings of the device.

The 38 cm support formed by two bars has a “v” shape and takes up considerable space. These bars still serve you to secure your wires and even store your headset, which is a good thing. However, be careful when moving the height, as your wires can stretch and end up escaping. The base allows you to turn up to 15 degrees sideways, and 14 centimeters up and down.

Gamers who are used to conventional TVs will turn up their noses at this aspect. That's because speakers may be lacking for some in this great machine.

An alternative that Samsung gave to this point was the P2 input located on the back of the monitor, but the choice of where to place an audio output was not one of the best. Unless your headphones are extensive, you can only play close to the screen, which may annoy some.

However, it is also important to mention that, even if the C24FG70 does not have sound, other Samsung options are available for this. This feature, if the user displeases, can be circumvented with other models such as the 27” Curved Monitor which, in addition to the curved screen technology, has built-in speakers. So, keep in mind whether or not this feature is crucial for you when choosing your monitor.

Conectividade

In addition to the headphone jack, three inputs accompany the C24FG70. Located on the back of the gaming monitor, two HDMI ports are necessary for you to connect your PC and your video game, as well as a Display Port input.

As this is a gaming monitor, a USB input would be nice to have, as controls and gadgets could be loaded directly where they are used. However, this would only be a plus in the product, as the connections did not fail at any time during the tests.

The FPS mode is darker, but that's not a negative point; how Assasins Creed IV , shadows became more apparent, and delivered a game of respect.

The VA panel collaborates to deliver great images. Also, shades of black are more noticeable when combined with pre-configured game modes. To make your games more dynamic, a blue LED accompanies you in the matches, pulsing dynamically.

Extra Features

A Samsung thought of the many gamers who play for hours and allocated C24FG70 an eye protection mode. With this setting enabled, colors are fainter. However, they do not lose their originality, which is quite a hit to please your retina.

In addition to eye protection mode, the gaming monitor can be configured for low power consumption. You can set power consumption to auto, low and high. In the latter mentioned, the brightness is reduced to a minimum, since the energy consumed is as little as possible.

If you are looking for a monitor that can spend several hours in your games, the C24FG70 provides enough immersion for gamer no place to fault. We can say that, during all tests, it did not present image errors or distorted colors.

Among the various monitors available on the market, the C24FG70 is found for a maximum of R$ 1.859,00, despite being sold on the Samsung  for R$2. 299,00 It's not one of the cheapest, but considering the experience it delivers, we can say that it's worth the investment!
