Social network Parler returns to the air after being banned on several platforms

Last month, Amazon Web Services banned the Parler platform from its search engines, a move that was also adopted by Google and Apple, which removed the app from the Play Store and App Store, respectively.

Parler is popularly known for integrating users with conservative profiles, having been one of former President Donald Trump's main information dissemination tools. In addition, several Spanish public figures declared their support for the social network, such as President Jair Bolsonaro (without a party) and a good part of his ministers.

    Return from Parler

The company's website is now live again and can be used to create an account or download the social network application that is not yet available for download through the official stores of the Android and iOS operating system. Installation is done using a file in .apk format (in the case of Android smartphones), requiring the user to allow installation from unknown sources through the device's settings.

"Our backend is built on independent, sustainable technology and does not rely on so-called 'Big Tech' for its operations," the company said in a statement.

This service is an alternative for those who want to spread fake news and hate speech without any kind of penalty on the part of the platform. For these reasons, it is likely that both Google and Apple will maintain restrictions on their app stores.

The company sued Amazon over antitrust claims and asked a US federal court to force Amazon to restore its service while the case unfolded, but the request was denied.

    Accusations

Evidence suggests that the January 6 attack on Capitol Hill was staged through the social network Parler, thus allowing pro-Trump supporters to organize to commit the invasion that took the lives of 5 people during the riot.

This is one of the reasons that led to the almost unanimous banning of all search services and browsers.
