Sony intends to release some of its titles for other platforms, such as the PC

Sony recently announced the purchase of the independent studio Insomniac Games, responsible for the development of the famous game Marvel's Spider-Man, to remain competitive in the market. However, the Japanese game developer's announcements did not stop there, and during Gamescom, which officially started yesterday, the company announced its intention to launch some of its titles for other platforms.

During an interview, president of Sony's game studios worldwide, Shawn Layden, stated that Playstation exclusive titles will still be part of the company's strategy, but some games (particularly titles developed to be played on PC) may have wider distribution.

      Shawn these:

"We must support the PlayStation platform - this is non-negotiable. That said, you will see some titles in the future coming out of my studio collection that may need to lean towards a wider installed base."

Sony intends to release some of its titles for other platforms, such as the PC

      • Minimum and recommended requirements to run Fortnite on PC in 2022
      • Minimum requirements to play PUBG on PC
Currently Sony owns 14 game development studios around the world, thus having a great capacity to produce exclusive titles. That is, there is a great possibility that we have several games leaving the Playstation platform for others such as the PC, which was mentioned above.
