The differences between Mi CC9, CC9e and CC9 Meitu Edition

The Chinese company Xiaomi presented its new devices Mi CC9, CC9e and Meitu Edition, three versions of its noblest intermediaries. 

Before addressing the specifications that set them apart, it is important to remember the role of the name "Meitu". Some may remember that it is a company that attracted a lot of attention at the time for daring to develop its own smartphones, and also the creation of photo retouching applications, designed to work with selfie cameras. Well, this company ended up being bought by Xiaomi, which decided to use its technology to improve, above all, the performance of the front cameras of its smartphones.

Xiaomi Mi CC9 and CC9e have a front camera which is probably the best of its smartphone range, and the Meitu Edition also has a number of tweaks and optimizations, including low-light portrait mode, video portrait mode, various full-body beauty filters and a special vlog mode with video stabilization.

The three variants are made of metal and glass with a sandwich finish, that is, they use a metal shell with a sheet of glass on top, and another on the bottom, in addition to using AMOLED panels and having Snapdragon SoCs.

The price of Xiaomi Mi CC9 in China it was fixed at CNY 1.799 (approximately R$1000) for the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage option, and CNY 1.999 (approximately R$1113) for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model. It will be available in Dark Blue, Black and White color options.

the price of Xiaomi Mi CC9e, on the other hand, starts at CNY 1.299 (approximately R$724) for the model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, reaching CNY 1.399 (approximately R$780) for the model with 64GB of storage and 6GB of RAM. The model with 128GB storage and 6GB of RAM is launched for CNY 1.599 (approximately R$ 890). It will be available in the same colors as the Mi CC9.

O Xiaomi Mi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition was also launched with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and is priced at CNY 2.599 (approximately R$1448). This premium variant is only released in a white gradient finish. The only hardware difference between the Xiaomi Mi CC9 and the Mi CC9 and Meitu Custom Edition is the fact that this one has more RAM, more storage and a different color variant. It also comes in different packaging. The Mi CC9 and Mi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition devices will go on sale from July 5th in China, while the Mi CC9e will go on sale on July 9th.

In terms of software tweaks, the new Mi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition includes Meitu camera optimizations, which use all the brand's camera features and video editing capabilities. The Mi CC9 Meitu Edition also comes with the unique low-light portrait mode feature developed by Meitu.

Xiaomi Mi CC9 Specifications

As for the specifications, the I CC9 will run MIUI 10, based on Android Pie. It features a 6,39-inch full HD AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080x2340 pixels and a pixel density of 403ppi and 430 nits of maximum brightness. 

The smartphone is powered by 710GHz octa-core Snapdragon 2,2 processor paired with 6GB RAM and Adreno 616 GPU. Internal storage options include 64GB and 128GB with the option to expand further using a microSD card slot (up to 256GB).

Coming to the optics, the Mi CC9 has a triple rear camera, including a 48-megapixel main camera with f/1.9 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and another 2-megapixel sensor for depth of field. Rear camera features include super night mode, portrait mode bokeh effect, HDR, panorama, 4K video recording, support 960fps slo-motion video recording.

As mentioned, the handset is equipped with a 32-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. Front camera features include Mimoji Shooting, AI Portrait Mode, 3D Beauty, Front Panoramic Photo, Gesture Photo, Front HDR Mode, Front Screen Fill, Face Recognition, Smart beauty mode and more.

The Mi CC9 comes with a 4.030mAh battery, with 18W fast charging. Connectivity options include NFC, 3,5mm audio jack, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth v5 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. Key features include in-screen fingerprint sensor, face unlock, Game Turbo 2.0 mode and high resolution audio. The handset weighs 179 grams and measures 156,8 x 74,5 x 8,67 millimeters in thickness.

Xiaomi Mi CC9e Specifications

As for the Mi CC9e specs, the smartphone will have a 720x1560 pixels AMOLED HD+ display, measuring 6.088 inches and having a display brightness of 350 nits and TUV Rheinland certification. 

As mentioned, the handset is powered by the 2.0GHz 665nm Snapdragon 11 octa-core processor, combined with 4GB and 6GB RAM options. Internal storage is offered in 64GB and 128GB options, and a hybrid microSD card slot, which also offers expansion (up to 256GB).

O I CC9e It doesn't have NFC support, but packs the same 4.030mAh battery with support for 10W charging. It weighs slightly less than the Mi CC9 at 173,8 grams and dimensions of 153,48 x 71,85 x 8,4mm.

Xiaomi Mi CC9 Meitu Edition

The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Meitu Edition is identical to the Xiaomi Mi CC9, but with some specific modes for your camera. According to Xiaomi, these were specially developed for vlogers, courtesy of Meitu, a company acquired by Xiaomi in late 2018.
