Since the beginning of December, Xiaomi has been working to provide an update for Google's latest security package, thereby providing even more security for users using MIUI. The company has already released the December 2020 security patches for several of its Mi and Redmi subsidiary smartphones.
Today, Monday (28), it was the turn of the Mi 10T, Mi 10T Pro and Redmi K30s devices, which are receiving the update to the new version. According to reports, this is a global release, meaning users from various regions will receive the update via OTA (Over-The-Air)
Update
The update is still based on Android 10 for both devices (Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro). For now, there are not many details about the next update for Android 11, but rumors suggest that it will arrive next month with the recently released MIUI 12.5, which is already available on the Mi 11, a high-end device launched by the Chinese manufacturer. The new security package arrives under build "V12.0.9.0.QJDMIXM".
Several Mi devices are likely to receive this new firmware in the coming months. Version 12.5 introduces new features, software updates and serves as an incremental update ahead of MIUI 13, which should officially arrive only from the second half of 2021.
