Maps is the main GPS navigation application available for Android, coming natively on smartphones that use the Google operating system; the application outperforms other competitors such as Waze, for example. Recently, the developer released an update that adds new features to the application, one of which is the presence of a community so that users can inform about happenings in the surroundings.
In addition, the feed can be used to promote events, openings and more. According to the company, the feature will mainly help tourists, being possible to quickly find attractions close to the location of the smartphone.
Update the application
In order to use the 'explore' function, the application must be updated (from version 10.55.2).

- Download for iOS.
Tapping on one of the links above will redirect you to your operating system's app store. Then check if there are any updates available for Maps and, if so, update them.

Know the function
When you open the app you will see the 'Explore' tab in the bottom right corner. By tapping on it is possible to view the posts of other users and follow certain establishments, thus receiving alerts as soon as a new publication is made.
According to Google, the artificial intelligence (AI) of Maps is able to identify customer preferences and recommend what will please them. Example: vegan restaurant suggestions for vegan people.
