We tested Minecraft RTX, the game's ultra-realistic mode, check it out

One of the most popular games in the world, Minecraft has also been popular with Spanish gamers of all ages, boosting many game streamers including. The game itself has already received many updates and mods, which allow for the inclusion of player-made content into the game. Based on that, Nvidia is about to release a sort of ultra-realistic mod for Minecraft, the Minecraft RTX that Techlifers has tested in advance.

The Minecraft RTX project started when the Nvidia team realized that with the release of their cards with new functions, such as Ray Tracing, a kind of realistic graphics resource pack, such as the projection of natural light, could even reproduce the effect of an eyeball or camera lens with reflection and projection of inverted images, few games took advantage and made good use of the functions of Ray Tracing. There were already many unofficial graphics improvement mods for Minecraft, that's when Mojang and Nvidia came up with the idea of releasing an official project of a "Mod" that took full advantage of every Ray Tracing feature in an official way for Minecraft. Therefore, another project that is being carried out by the partnership consists of an official store where you can download and buy mods.

      Nvidia Disclosure of Minecraft RTX

The Nvidia team prepared 2 maps for testing, one with the traditional blocks, their interactions with light and different types of lighting. Some commands were available for testing (such as changing the time of day) and a shortcut with the arrow keys to change the game's graphics, between ray tracing (the ultra realistic function of the board), and the other with the traditional graphics.

In the first map, we started in a house with several windows, some different blocks and rugs to be able to test their interactions with the natural light of each time, with differences in tone and intensity. And it is possible to immediately perceive the detailed work in the textures of the blocks, in which the biggest investment is the interactions with the light, which makes it appear relief, even though the layers are flat. Soon after, a cave for testing artificial lights, lava and ores. We then arrived at a crevice with a lake, to be able to test the interaction of light with the new texture of the water that imitates the transparency and reflection depending on the luminosity very close to reality. Still in the crack, you can see the clear difference between very dark places and a region with sun rays, so one more thing is tested, the organic adaptation of luminosity when looking at a bright environment and suddenly looking at the dark, in the same way. that our eyes react.

Afterwards, we have an ice cave in the test circuit, where the mixture of reflections and mixtures between natural light, artificial light and the transparency of the ice blocks stand out. Soon after, a corridor of lava stone bricks, with blocks of iron, gold, diamond and emerald, all now reflect luminosity.

The second test map starts already in a pre-built house with new and realistic textures that remains even with Ray Tracing turned off, because it is no longer just about luminosity, but a texture pack with full interaction with the luminosity that Ray Tracing provides.

What is missing for this project to be ready and accessible to players is the improvement in graphics capacity. For now, it only runs in full HD 1920 x 1080. It is necessary to leave it a little lighter so that older cards (other than an RTX) can run the mod as well. Even on the most advanced card, frames per second do not exceed 60.
