Who knows Half-Life 3? According to Gabe Newell, Valve is developing new games

Valve fans know how long the company takes to release new games. The truth is that many have even given up waiting for certain titles, but the dream of seeing a new Half-Life is still alive within many players around the world.

In 2020, Half-Life: Alyx was released and managed to please many players, as well as being highly praised by critics. However, the virtual reality title is not quite what fans want, mainly because it is content that is not accessible to everyone.

Now, to get fans excited about the future, in an interview with 1News, Gabe Newell revealed that Valve is working on new titles. The company's co-founder also stated that it is fun to release games and said that it was good to make Half-Life Alyx.

"We definitely have games in development that we're going to announce. It's fun to release games. Alyx was amazing, going back to making singleplayer games, it created a rhythm within the company to do more of that."

Talking about named projects, Newell preferred to deflect and not reveal information.

"We have a lot of aliases. Are you referring to an alias? Just to be clear, internally we have a lot of different names, and they change over time."

Gabe Newell also commented on eSports, more necessarily on DOTA and CS:GO, games from Valve. The co-founder stated that both the International DOTA 2, the biggest eSports tournament in general, and the CS: GO Major Championship can take place in New Zealand.

It is worth remembering that the 2020 editions of the competitions were canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Check out what Gabe Newell said about the possibility of tournaments taking place in New Zealand.

"It's a realistic possibility and it gets more realistic all the time. I literally couldn't, if I had to guess when it would be safe to do a tournament for an audience anywhere in the world, it would be very difficult for me to say that, although I think, very confidently, we could plan that in New Zealand. Hopefully, procedures can be put in place for this to become feasible, as, you know, that's what the quarantine would look like."
