Apple will accept Spanish currency for App Store purchases in 2018

On Thursday (07) Apple announced a change in the payment currency in its virtual stores. Starting in 2018, purchases made on the App Store, iBooks Store, Apple Music and iTunes will no longer be charged in dollars, but in reais.

The information was obtained through an email to iTunes subscribers, but without a specific date for the payment to start in reais. iCloud users, when purchasing a monthly service plan, will also start using the Spanish currency.

In this way, it will no longer be necessary to pay the 6,38% rate on the IOF, Tax on Financial Transactions, at the end of the transaction. Another problem that will no longer exist with the change concerns the variation of the final value, for example, when making a purchase in dollars, the final value could vary depending on the daily quote on the closing date of the credit card bill.

However, there is still no information about the changes in the prices of the apps with the change of the currency. Currently, apps on the Apple Store start at US$ 0,99, that is, in the conversion, R$ 3,25 without tax.
