Last Tuesday (5) the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit took place in Hawaii, where the leader in mobile processors made the announcement of its new chips, the Snapdragon 845, without revealing specific details about the specifications of the new processor, Qualcomm still made room for their partners to run other ads as well. The first of them was ASUS, which announced the first notebook with the Snapdragon 835 processor.
At another time who took the stage was Lei Jun, current CEO of Xiaomi, the suspicion then that some announcement coming from Xiaomi was confirmed, since the CEO was spotted landing in Hawaii before the event.
Accompanied by Qualcomm vice president Cristiano Amon, Jun said that a great partnership is forming and that for 2018 we will have the Mi 7 with Snapdragon 845, so far this was the only smartphone announced with this processor. Something that until now had only happened with Samsung, with the Galaxy S8, which used the Snapdragon 835, and was exclusive for a long time, while competitors such as the LG G6 arrived on the market with the Snapdragon 821.
The processor has not yet had its specifications official, but it should maintain the same 10 nanometer lithographic and eight Kryo cores, as its predecessors, in addition to great capabilities for AI and VR. Likewise, the specifications of the Xiaomi Mi 7 were not disclosed, but it is speculated that they will be announced in the first months of 2018, until then we are just guessing.
