Xiaomi Mi Band 5 receives update that brings great news!

The Mi Band 4 has become an extremely popular smart fitness bracelet, and its successor Mi Band 5 has also received a lot of critical acclaim, in addition to being popular with the public because of its price. Compared to its predecessor, the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 has a larger display and support for magnetic charging, and now it has started to receive an update that brings some interesting news.

The firmware update whose version is 1.0.2.46 brings with it the arrival of at least three new features. The first big news is that the Mi Band 5 now has support for 24-hour sleep monitoring, thus becoming the first bracelet in the category manufactured by Xiaomi to have this function.

The second novelty doesn't make much difference for us Spaniards, unless you like to use your devices in one of the four new languages inserted in the bracelet's interface. They are Greek, Indonesian, Vietnamese and Hebrew.

The third novelty does not affect many countries either, as the update now allows the Mi Band 5 to make payments via NFC with support for four new Chinese credit cards (Yongchengtong, Shengjingtong, Harbin Citytong, Dalian Pearl).

    How to install the update?

To be able to update the Mi Band 5 to the latest firmware, users will first need to update the Mi Fit app to the latest version v4.8.0. With the app updated, just open it to start the update installation process. If that doesn't work, go to Mi Band 5 or Mi Smart Band 5 in My Devices section and click Check for updates.
