50MP! Xiaomi confirms that the Mi 11 Ultra will come with Samsung's ISOCELL GN2 sensor

A lot of anticipation has been created around Xiaomi's upcoming flagships, called Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra. Even keeping a certain mystery about what we can really expect from the devices, the Chinese giant confirmed that both will have high photographic power. In the case of the Mi 11 Ultra, for example, we will have a camera module led by Samsung's ISOCELL GN2 sensor.

This sensor was announced by the South Korean giant at the end of February this year, and promises to be one of the main ones on the market, arriving mainly among high-end hardware. Until then, what we had could only be regarded as rumors. But in a teaser revealed by the company's official profile on the Chinese social network Weibo, the presence of the sensor was confirmed. About the ISOCELL GN2 sensor

The ISOCELL GN2 is a 1MP 12/50-inch aperture sensor with 1,4μm large pixels and 4-1 pixel processing. One of its strengths is the autofocus system based on Dual Pixel Pro technology, which basically allows for faster and more accurate focus locking. Furthermore, it is capable of recording 4K video at 120fps.

With that, we can expect the Mi 11 Ultra to have a 48MP periscope lens with 5x (optical) and 120x (digital) zoom. The official announcement of the Mi 11 Pro, Mi 11 Ultra, and possibly the Mi 11 Lite, should happen next Monday, March 29th. The most affordable model, for example, had its full datasheet leaked even before the official announcement.
