Counterpoint, a company specializing in market analysis, recently published a report regarding earnings in the smartphone sector during the third quarter of this year. Although it is third in the ranking of units sold, Apple led in revenue during this period, adding an incredible 66%.
The data also point out that, during last year's Black Friday, the company that owns the iPhone was responsible for 80% of global profits. Samsung and Huawei managed to "grab" the second and third place respectively.
If we evaluate it well, Counterpoint's numbers make perfect sense, after all, Apple is only focused on the premium smartphone market, something that naturally generates more income, while manufacturers that use Android will seek a good part of their profits in models of entry and intermediaries, which are consequently cheaper.
This shows that Apple has managed to "turn around" in relation to sales of iPhones, which had been showing lows in recent years. The iPhone 11 line contributed a lot to generate this Counterpoint data, mainly in China, which is one of the biggest markets in the world.
On the other hand, as expected, Xiaomi is the company that makes the least profit in the smartphone sector, with figures around 5%. Fortunately, the sales volume is very large, given that the Chinese has a fan base that grows daily. According to the brand's CEO, this low profit strategy will always be maintained, something beneficial for consumers.
