    Apple leads in sales of high-end smartphones

    Counterpoint Research, a company specializing in market analysis, released a new report on the sales of high-end smartphones during the first quarter of 2020. The data showed that Apple managed to leave behind its biggest competitors, namely Samsung and Huawei. .

    During the analyzed period, the iPhone 11 was the best-selling smartphone, with a market share of 30%, followed by the iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone XR, with 9%, 7% and 6%, respectively. The last position was taken by the Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G, which managed only 3%.

    OnePlus and Xiaomi are highlights in Europe

    The report also shows the overall picture of the flagship market, with Apple leading in all regions except China, where Huawei is still on top. Looking at Europe, we can see that Samsung managed to "grab" the second place and, surprisingly, we have OnePlus in third.

    If we stop to think about it, this is an impressive feat considering that OnePlus is a relatively new brand, with only 6 years of existence. Still, it managed to sell more smartphones than Huawei in a market as important as Europe.

    Counterpoint Research has not confirmed, but it is quite likely that the Chinese giant's fall is related to the fact that its recent smartphones do not have Google services installed by default, due to sanctions imposed by the United States.



    In Europe, Huawei was also overtaken by Xiaomi, which has managed to grow surprisingly outside China in recent years, delivering models with interesting specifications and attractive prices.
