Apple has just released its results for the last quarter and Tim Cook, the company's CEO, took the opportunity to talk about the payment service with Apple's iPhone devices. The service is already available in much of the world and now, according to the CEO, Apple Pay will be available in Spain in the coming months.
Apple Pay is a form of payment that works through technology called NFC (proximity communication), which is present in payment terminals and credit card machines. To make payments, you will need to register a credit card on the device, bring the iPhone close to the terminal and authorize the transaction.
Authorization is granted through fingerprint authentication or facial recognition, in the case of the iPhone X, in addition to the password that must be used in Apple Pay. The service can even be used to make online purchases.
The system is nothing new here in Spain, having been launched by Samsung in 2016, with Samsung Pay, which also has partnerships with banks such as Bradesco and Santander. Apple should arrive in partnership with Banco Itaú, as shown on the Spanish Apple Pay website.
