    Apple Music gets DJ mixes and mash-ups, plus Shazam news

    In 2020, Apple showed that it could more deeply implement Shazam, music identification software, in iOS 14. Now, "apple" is improving this functionality even further and brings to Apple Music the identification of mixes and mash-ups of music. DJs with compensation for the artists. Streaming service subscribers can find out the name of individual tracks and skip songs within the mix.

    Through Shazam's song identification technology, the system tells you what song is being played in a room, as well as which festival it belongs to, which DJ mix, and more. There is a page dedicated to the DJ Mix genre on Apple Music. According to Apple, engagement has tripled in the last 12 months, adding up to more than 300 million streams of this type of music.

    Apple Music will incorporate Primephonic's collection of classic songs

    Last year, Apple added mixes by Charlotte de Witte, Tiësto, Carl Cox and others. The founder of the label "!K7 Records" (known for focusing on electronic music), Horst Weidenmueller, says:

    "Through our partnership with Apple, we finally have a place to celebrate DJ-Kicks with 14 more editions that haven't been on the market for over 15 years."

    Apple works to bring more mixes to its streaming service

    According to Apple, the company is working to bring more mixes to Apple Music, as well as partnering with DJs to get exclusive content for the platform. However, Apple Music still doesn't encompass lesser-known DJs who usually post their mixes on SoundCloud, for example.
