Banco Itaú launches first commercial for Apple Pay

In Spain, Banco Itaú is an exclusive partner of Apple Pay and today the company launched its first commercial developed especially for Apple's payment service.

The commercial emphasizes how fast, easy and secure it is to make transactions through Apple Pay in physical stores with the iPhone and Apple Watch. The company emphasizes in the advertisement "Pay with UAU. Paying was easy, fast and secure. Itaú now with Apple Pay".

The agreement is exclusive between Banco Itaú and Apple for a stipulated period of 90 days. As a result, in these three months, only national, international, Gold, Platinum, Black or Infinite credit cards and Credicard cards can be used in Apple Pay. Debit cards were left out, which left some customers disappointed, but the executive director of Itaú-Unibanco, Marcelo Kopel, informed that these cards will not be left out. .

Kopel also pointed out that in the first hours that Apple Pay was launched, on April 04th, more than 10 thousand customer registrations would have been made to use the service "We arrived at this number based on the customers who use our application" . In addition, the executive said that currently the bank has approximately 1,2 million customers who are able to use the service, that is, who have iPhone 6 or later models.

Banco Itaú is investing heavily to raise awareness that the Apple Pay payment method is extremely secure. "Once these people start to transact, it generates the effect of positive contamination", he added.

The executive director added that "The hardware is ready and the software is already there. There will be a natural tendency to upgrade. As we see customers adopting the platform and seeing others, it is natural [to partner with other companies such as Google and Samsung ]".
