    Future iPhones should have smaller notch and even hole in the screen, says analyst

    As we well know, the latest iPhones followed a look traced by Apple's first models, and usually have a rectangular notch at the top of the screen, where the front camera and other relevant sensors are housed. But recent rumors have pointed to a new look with a smaller notch for the next series of iPhones, and that should be a transition to a later edition that should show a single cutout to house the front camera, as is already happening in models of other manufacturers such as Samsung for example.

    What was considered just a rumor has gained more strength in the last few hours, as Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst linked to Apple who usually provides us with a forecast of various details and has incredibly got most of them right, revealed information about what we can expect. of the next generations of iPhones.

    New iPhones, New Look!

    Kuo says that Apple's next smartphone models, which should be released in 2021, will not present major changes in their look, with the main highlight being the arrival of the 120 Hz refresh rate for the more robust models, such as the iPhone 13 Pro. and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

    But the big news is that according to the analyst, the new generation of smartphones will carry "a reduced notch". Although this news suggests the return of Touch ID for the new iPhones, it seems that this idea is not yet in the company's plans.

    In a note sent to the 9To5Mac portal, Kuo said that this change should promote practicality for users;

    "We believe that the iPhone will significantly improve the user experience if it adopts the Power button with the Touch ID sensor. However, there is currently no visibility on the timing of adoption of this new specification…"

    As for the hole in the screen, Kuo told MacRumors that this change in Apple cell phones is more significant, and that they should only appear in the iPhone 14 generation, expected to be released only in 2022. The initial expectation is that only the models most robust in the series have this novelty, but can be extended to all models, depending on production yields.

    If the rumors are correct, Touch ID should return, but it will be inserted under the display, with speculation to take place from next year.
