Now, the information that arrives is that we will in fact have a smartphone from Redmi with the MediaTek chip and it will not be called K40.
Lu Weibing, president of Xiaomi in China and general manager of Redmi, said that this new smartphone will pave the way for a new line of gaming models with a more affordable price than other devices on the market. According to the information, the Redmi K40 is still in the company's plans, but it will no longer be the company's first model to showcase MediaTek's Dimensity 1200 processor.
Apparently, it is too early to pass any information on this supposed new smartphone. Not even a supposed name began to be speculated. In addition to the confirmation of the processor included in this smartphone, we also know that it will arrive with a super battery, which can be one of 5.000 mAh or even larger. This battery should still arrive with fast charging support, although no information has been revealed about it.

Why a MediaTek and not a Qualcomm?

In the case of the Dimensity 1200 chip that should be inserted under the hood of this new gaming smartphone from Redmi, we have a configuration with a Cortex-A78 main core that operates at 3,0 GHz, that is, very fast. In addition to this, three other Cortex-A78 cores run at 2,6 Hz and four more Cortex-A55 cores operate at 2,0 Hz, thus offering a configuration that thinks about performance as well as battery saving. The GPU is a 77-core Mali-G9.
