Google mobile operator offers unlimited data plan

Google has since 2015 its own mobile operator in the United States, Project Fi, offers the company's customers plans for voice and data usage, just like any other operator.

However, Google's operator franchise wasn't that great in terms of cost-benefit, for those who consume a lot of mobile data. The company charged $20 for the voice and SMS plan and another $10 per gigabyte used.

Thinking about making life easier for those consumers who spend a lot of mobile data, Google this week launched a new plan, called Bill Protection, the plan charges a fixed amount of US$60 if the user consumes more than 6GB of data.

The plan is unlimited, and the consumer does not pay anything more than the amount mentioned above for the data, but if the customer consumes more than 15GB, his speed will be reduced to up to 256Kb/s, and he can use the internet at will, but with a reduction in speed. , if it does not reach this limit, the browsing speed remains default.

The search giant's justification for this limit is that its customers never exceed 15GB per month. It still offers the user to maintain the speed after maxing out, but they are charged the same US$ 10 for the gibabyte used.

Project Fi works as a virtual carrier, using Sprint, T-Mobile and US Cellular networks. It is still restricted to the United States, but offers advantages such as coverage outside the country without roaming fees.
