iPhone 12 Pro may arrive without a 120 Hz display due to power problems

iPhone 12 Pro may arrive without a 120 Hz display due to power problems

Industry insider Ross Young has some bad news for Apple fans. It has a good track record with its recent predictions and if the latter comes to fruition, the iPhone 12 Pro models will miss out on an important feature, the 120 Hz screen refresh rate.

People in the supply chain say the 120Hz OLED panels are protected and ready for manufacture, but Apple can't find driver ICs to drive the pixels to 120Hz. And instead of waiting for ICs, rumors suggest that the company will revert to using the 60 Hz refresh rate by default so as not to delay the launch.

Hearing that Apple can get 120Hz Pro panels, but not 120Hz driver ICs. So they will either have to come up with a fix which will be difficult, wait for 120Hz driver ICs and delay the launch possibly significantly or launch with 60Hz. We are hearing they will launch with 60Hz.

It may be a disappointment to some, given that the industry has advanced and now 120Hz is available on most top of the line available on the market and even smartphones in the premium mid-range segment already have a 90Hz rate as standard, in addition to the gaming smartphone segment that deliver refresh rates up to 144Hz.

It is obvious that Apple would not launch its new smartphones without screens with 120Hz refresh rate, but it seems that the company is currently facing a dilemma, delaying the launch and waiting for the necessary parts to bring the Apple user, the iPhone 12 with a screen. 120Hz, or keep your deadlines by delivering the same.

The big question is, is Apple really concerned about what its users want or like? It is worth remembering that we have already seen a similar thing happen in 2019, when the company launched the iPhone 11 line without 5G connectivity.

But tell us, you Apple user, the absence of a screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz, would you give up the new Apple devices that will arrive in 2020?
